Vince Verrocchio is a litigator who represents clients in complex trial and appellate litigation, arbitration, and mediation. Vince handles general business disputes, antitrust claims, patent and trademark infringement, civil Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) claims, unfair trade practices, defamation, and franchise terminations. Vince frequently serves as first-chair counsel and has represented clients in numerous trials, hearings, and depositions, including examinations of elected officials, appointed government officials, and Fortune 500 corporate officers. He also has extensive experience managing discovery efforts, including conducting fact investigations, handling witness interviews, and supervising document production and reviews.

Antitrust

  • Obtained a unanimous jury verdict on behalf of a pharmaceutical manufacturer in a multi-billion-dollar antitrust class action (In re Nexium [Esomeprazole] Antitrust Litigation)
  • Represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer, including at trial, in class action antitrust litigation arising from the settlement of patent litigation reaching favorable resolution during trial (In re Modafinil Antitrust Litigation)
  • Represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer, including at trial, in class action antitrust litigation arising from settlement of patent litigation (In re Solodyn Antitrust Litigation)
  • Defended an international manufacturing conglomerate against claims under the Sherman Act involving retail marketing, category management, rebates, and exclusive dealing

Business Litigation

  • Obtained a multi-million-dollar jury verdict against a yacht manufacturer for defective construction of a “megayacht”
  • Prosecuted breach of contract and breach of good faith and fair dealing claims on behalf of a world leader in multimedia and mobile tours, successfully defeating a motion to dismiss, and secured a favorable settlement from a well-known tourist destination
  • Represented a manufacturer against an $80 million breach of contract claim arising from a worldwide product recall
  • Represented a nonprofit organization against breach of contract claims brought by a well-known actress and comedian, successfully warding off claims without litigation or settlement
  • Prosecuted breach of contract and negligence claims and secured a favorable settlement on behalf of a nonprofit organization arising from the mishandling of proprietary data by a vendor
  • Represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer against false advertising, unfair competition, and tortious interference claims. Secured dismissal of all claims on summary judgment while prosecuting false advertising, unfair competition, and tortious interference counterclaims to favorable settlement
  • Defended a property owner in a partnership dispute involving a $33 million Florida apartment complex

Torts

  • Secured pretrial dismissals of all claims against a food industry nonprofit organization in “popcorn lung” cases across the country
  • Secured pretrial dismissals of all statutory and tort claims against a Fortune Global 500 beverage manufacturer in multiple cases arising from spring break activities

Property

  • Represented the District of Columbia in all litigation related to the acquisition of land for Nationals Park, the Washington Nationals Major League Baseball stadium
  • Represented a landowner in an eminent domain action in Prince William County, Virginia, securing an order that increased compensation to the landowner by 37%
  • Obtained a defense verdict on behalf of a Virginia property owner in a trespass, nuisance, and negligence lawsuit brought by an adjacent neighbor who sued for more than $20 million in actual and punitive damages for alleged property damage caused by flooding
  • Prosecuted negligence and nuisance claims on behalf of property owners in the District of Columbia Kalorama neighborhood for damages caused by negligence of a neighboring property owner
  • Secured an exclusive license to common area for a Great Falls, Virginia, property owner by pursuing adverse possession claims in response to homeowners association’s threats of fines, liens, and litigation

Public Records Requests

  • Defended nonprofit organizations in numerous cases against claims arising from alleged violations of public records request laws

Bankruptcy

  • Represented an investor in Madoff bankruptcy litigation and limited the trustee’s efforts to claw back millions of dollars

  • Defended an oil company in a patent infringement case involving numerous chemical patents, claiming metallocene catalysts for the fabrication of plastic film
